Leigh is an artist of Mohawk descent whose work is a powerful testament to indigenous resilience, memory and reclamation. Deeply rooted in her cultural heritage she brings a thoughtful and impactful approach to creating art that centers indigenous voices. Especially those too often silenced or erased. Driven by a passion for truth-telling, and cultural preservation, Leigh focuses her creative energy on exploring the ignored narratives within her community. Her art is both an act of remembrance and a call to action, shedding light on the ongoing crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two Spirit People (MMIWG2S), as well as Truth and Reconciliation.. Her work aims to create spaces of honour, healing and dialogue.

Leigh’s paintings challenge colonial narratives while celebrating the strength, spirit, and sovereignty of indigenous women. Each piece is carefully crafted to evoke reflection, carrying both the weight of history and the hope for future generations.

“I cannot express enough gratitude for the support I receive from my family, friends, and community. Niá:wen.”
